Local Fireworks Restrictions

As we celebrate Independence Day this coming week, be aware that several communities in Cache County have restricted fireworks use in certain areas, as well as a ban on fireworks in unincorporated Cache County.

The link at the bottom of this post is an updated list of cities and towns with fireworks restrictions for Cache County. Remember that the areas outside Newton Town limits are unincorporated Cache County and fireworks are restricted there.

No official fireworks restrictions have been put in place for Newton at this time. If you are planning a personal fireworks display in Newton we encourage you to light your fireworks in areas free of dry grass and brush and have a water source close by.

Aerial devices, also known as “multiple tube”, “repeater”, or “cake” fireworks often look like miniature professional displays and can travel high into the air, as much as 150 feet. These fireworks need sufficient space from trees, carports, structures, power lines or other high or low obstacles. Aerial or “cake” fireworks need at least a 30 foot clearance around on the ground and at least 150 foot clearance in the air.

Have a safe holiday!
